Verification methods & recommendation criteria
Verification labels
- Officially verified Checked against official pricing, help, or terms pages. We include the source URL and date checked.
- Tested firsthand The editor has used the feature firsthand. We record the date, plan, and whether it was on the web or in an app.
- Payment verified The editor has verified the actual amount paid, including currency and whether tax is included.
- Unverified Information without a source or that varies by circumstances.
Update schedule
- Discounts & student offers: We regularly recheck official pages and automatically hide expired offers.
- Pricing & free limits: We regularly recheck official pages. Each page shows when it was last checked.
- App store prices & benchmarks: We regularly refresh public data and show publication and retrieval dates for each item.
- Guides & prompts: We rerun and verify them after major updates.
Changes to official pages do not automatically update our content. We review and update it manually, then record the changes in our update and correction history. If the last check was a while ago, confirm the details on the official page before paying.
How we use benchmarks
We do not run benchmarks ourselves. We regularly fetch and display public data from LMArena rankings and Epoch AI benchmarks, both licensed under CC BY 4.0, with sources, publication dates, and licenses. Rankings are a reference, not the sole basis for subscription recommendations.
How we use AI
We use AI to organize information, draft text, and translate. Prices, limits, and offers are individually linked to official sources. We don't invent menus, offers, personal experiences, or screenshots, and the editor reviews the final content.
Recommendation criteria
The quiz uses rules based on five factors: purpose, frequency, file tasks, budget, and existing subscriptions. 'A free plan is enough' is a possible result. Service choices reflect the editor's experience. As we gather test results, we'll update the rules and record the changes.
