Actual Google AI Pro (Gemini) billing in South Korea: VAT is included in the KRW price

Gemini's paid features are purchased through Google AI plans (Google One). We verified the amount and cancellation steps using receipts and actual screens from the operator's Google AI Pro subscription.

Run on 2026-10-04

At a Glance

  • The receipt shows ₩29,000 per month, including VAT (receipt wording: 'Includes VAT ₩2,636'). Unlike Claude, which bills in USD, the listed price is the billed amount.
  • The operator's account is billed through Google Play. The receipt lists the seller as 'Google Digital Inc.' and the product as 'Google AI Pro (5 TB) (Google One)'.
  • Cancellation steps (web): 'Settings' on the left in Gemini → 'Manage subscription' → 'Manage membership' in Google One → 'Cancel membership'.
  • Google's official help calls the menu 'Settings and help', but the actual screen on 2026-10-04 labeled it 'Settings'.

What we verified directly

  • Gemini web (Korean interface, 2026-10-04): selecting 'Settings' on the left opens a menu with items including 'Activity', 'Usage limits', 'Gems', and 'Manage subscription'.
  • Under 'Manage Google One membership' on the Google One settings screen are 'Change membership plan', 'Change payment method', 'Cancel membership', and 'Manage family settings'.
  • Google Play receipt email (2026-09-27): 'Google AI Pro (5 TB) (Google One) ₩29,000 per month, automatically renewing subscription, total ₩29,000 per month (Includes VAT ₩2,636)'.
  • The same amount (₩29,000, including VAT of ₩2,636) appears in each of the 3 Google Play receipt emails dated July 27, August 27, and September 27, 2026.

What we did not verify

  • We did not actually cancel the membership or request a refund.
  • We did not inspect the Play Store subscription screen on an Android device or the iPhone billing screen.
  • We did not verify the final amount on the card statement; we only checked the receipt amount.
