Browse with Copilot (Microsoft Edge)

MWhat It Does
Browse with Copilot lets Copilot handle tasks by directly clicking, typing, and switching tabs within Microsoft Edge. All actions run locally in the user's browser, and users can watch each step in real time and take control at any time. Microsoft states that this experimental feature may misunderstand instructions or be influenced by malicious instructions hidden on webpages.
Who It Is For (Site Operator's Opinion)
Suitable for US Microsoft 365 Premium subscribers using Edge who want to delegate web clicks and typing. Other countries are 'coming later'.
Tasks You Can Delegate
- Open websites and find desired information
- Make reservations (such as restaurants·accommodation)
- Handle shopping tasks such as adding ingredients from a recipe page to a cart
- Summarize multiple open tabs and act on their content
- Work on the current page, such as reorganizing an already open document
Where to Use It
Select 'Browse with Copilot' in the Microsoft Edge Copilot input box and enter your request. Guidance suggests starting with phrases such as 'In my browser…' or 'On the current page…' for tasks on the current page, or 'Open', 'Find', 'Book', or 'Add' for other tasks. A consent dialog appears on first use.
Pricing
- Microsoft 365 Premium $19.99/month

What We Have Not Yet Confirmed
- The support page does not specify whether Microsoft 365 Pro subscribers can also use it (only Premium is mentioned)
- No introduction video dedicated to this feature was found on official channels
- Personal Cowork website tasks are described as currently using this local Edge browser approach, so the two features may overlap
