Google · Checked 2026-10-04

GoogleWhat It Does

A feature that lets Gemini in Chrome navigate websites directly and handle multi-step tasks for the user. It clicks buttons, fills forms, and navigates pages independently, pausing for confirmation at sensitive steps such as payments or social media posts. Gemini Spark also uses desktop Chrome's auto browse for web tasks.

What We Have Not Yet Confirmed

  • The second video (5OR4c87Xt-E) was posted on Google's official developer channel @GoogleDevelopers, not the @GoogleChrome channel.
  • The first video (56b9uHAcHYc) introduces Gemini in Chrome overall (embedded in the auto browse launch blog); whether it covers only auto browse was not confirmed from its content.
  • The official page still describes the release as a 'preview'. General availability and plans for expansion outside the US were not confirmed on the official page.
  • There is no standalone auto browse product page, so the Chrome help page is designated as the official URL.
